Is the quality of Rent One’s merchandise the same as a retail store?

Absolutely! High-quality products are essential to your satisfaction and our success. At Rent One, we take pride in the quality, selection and brand names available in our stores.

Are products new or pre-owned?

Both! That’s the beauty of the rent-to-own transaction! You have the option of purchasing new or certified pre-owned quality products. The benefits of purchasing new include trying out the latest technology and keeping up with current style trends. The advantages of purchasing previously rented merchandise include shorter terms and lower cash prices.

Approval Process

What if I have bad credit?

In the rent-to-own transaction, everyone is pre-approved! No credit history check is conducted; therefore, customers are not penalized for past credit problems.

What is needed for approval?

Customers only need to provide their home address, a source of income and personal references, such as family members, friends and neighbors.

How can I place my order?

There are three ways to place an order at Rent One. Customers can stop by their local store and shop our showroom. If customers prefer to stay home, they can shop online at shoprentone.com or give us a call at 88-88-4RENT1 to place an order over the phone. No matter how an order is placed, we will deliver, set up and demonstrate products for our customers!

What if I can’t pick up the merchandise at the store?

Rent One provides delivery, set up and demonstration of the merchandise at no extra charge. In most cases, Rent One can deliver merchandise the same day it is purchased.

Payments

How do I make my payments?

Rent-to-own customers can choose to pay weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly. Payments can be made in-store, over the phone or online.

Do I lose everything I paid if I have to return the product?

When a customer returns a product they’ve been renting, they receive Reinstatement Rights. This means that they can reinstate the agreement at a later date when they feel they can afford the payments again. In most cases, the client will pick up where they left off and not lose any of the money they had already paid toward the agreement.

What happens if I’m late on a payment?

If you know you are going to be late on a payment, simply contact your local Rent One store before your payment due date and our team will work with you!

Can merchandise be purchased at a cash price?

Yes! Everything in a rent-to-own store is for sale at cash value. Most stores accept cash, debit or credit card for payment.

Can I buy the merchandise after renting it for a while?

Our Early Buyout option allows you to purchase merchandise before the end of the rental term at a discounted price.

What is a processing fee?

A processing fee is a one-time fee charged to the customer to set up their initial paperwork. This includes the rental agreement and customer file.

Why should I choose rent-to-own over traditional retail?

There are many benefits included in the rent-to-own transaction that are not provided in a traditional retail sale. Most importantly, customers can choose to rent-to-own a product, pay it off or return it at any time for any reason.

Am I obligated to keep the product for a specific length of time?

Rent-to-own is sort of like renewing a library book. At the end of each rental period, you have the option of renewing the agreement, returning the item or paying it off.

What if something goes wrong with a product while I am renting it?

Service is included! Should something go wrong with a product while it is on rent, customers simply need to notify the store and report the problem. A store employee will visit the concerned customer’s home and attempt to repair the item on-site within 24 hours. If it cannot be repaired on-site, the store will provide a loaner product and take the item to be serviced.

Does my product come with a warranty?

One of the many benefits of rent-to-own is that products remain under warranty while on rent. If a product is paid off early, then any additional manufacturer warranty will be transferred to the customer.

What happens if I find something that I like better later on?

The rent-to-own client can upgrade a product anytime. Nowhere else can a customer take an item home, use it and bring it back to get something better! Simply return the item to the store and upgrade to the latest version! Great examples include smartphones, laptops and tablets. Customers can even upgrade from a small television to a larger one!

What if I no longer need the product after I’ve rented it?

Rent-to-own customers are never obligated to make the next payment. No other transaction in the marketplace provides the consumer the option to continue payments or return the product without penalty or damage to their credit.
